The shame of Toronto Pride....

I love that line - what next..an anti-Israel float at the Santa Claus parade???
You've got to hand it to the organizers of Toronto's annual gay pride parade. With their cowardly volte face in allowing Queers Against Israeli Apartheid (QuAIA) to march, organizers have pulled off the PR nightmare hat-trick: bowing to the bullying of political correctness; violating their own core philosophy by readmitting a group rooted in hate and demonization; and shifting media focus off their main objective.

Pride's 180-degree turn is being hailed as a victory for free speech when, in fact, it is nothing of the sort. No one ever told QuAIA they couldn't march to their hateful tune, just that it didn't belong in a taxpayer-subsidized parade dedicated to celebrating inclusivity, promoting equality and combatting discrimination. What's next? An anti-Israel float in the Santa Claus Parade?

Let QuAIA have its own parade somewhere else — say in Gaza, Tehran or Damascus, where gays are tortured and murdered for daring to express their sexual preference. It would be interesting to see which pathologies in those regimes would win out: homicidal homophobia or genocidal anti-Zionism.

As a gay man I'm disgusted with what was an anti-semitic hate group marching in a parade that was SUPPOSE to celebrate the pride in being a gay man or woman.
